The Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI), the training arm of the Central Bank of Egypt, announced the results of the cooperation agreement with Mercer Mettl, one of the world’s leading companies in the field of Assessment services.
The agreement, authorizes EBI to use the Auto-Proctoring System “Mpaas” to EBI’s candidates and trainees in the Egyptian banking sector to conduct secure online exams any time & anywhere using credible anti-cheating technology and robust security features. Mercer | Mettl’s research-backed assessments, efficient cloud platform, and in-depth analytics helps organizations deliver transformative results for their clients and employees where they create customized assessments across the employee lifecycle, including pre-hiring screening, candidate skills assessment, training, and development programs.
The MPaaS system offered by Mercer Mettl provides a cloud-based proctoring service which relies heavily on artificial intelligence technology. One of the best systems currently used in the field, MPaaS facilitates conducting exams smoothly in a safe examination environment. This service offers new methodologies in conducting assessment projects allowing EBI to expand inside and outside Egypt and reflects efficiently on the cost, allowing EBI to execute multiple projects at the same time delivered in a quality that meets international standards for performing assessments remotely.
Mr. Abdel Aziz Nossier, Executive Director of the Egyptian Banking Institute, shared the results of the cooperation agreement after six months of the signing: ” The total number of proctored users by end of December 2021 was total of 3,428 users, and added that during the assessment phase of Etaha initiative 424 users were assessed using MPaaS system without any human intervention.” Mr. Nossier also added that the integration with the MPaaS system was seamless and compatible with the LMS EBI is using (Moodle), and reports can be extracted on both platforms (Moodle)/(MPaaS).
Mr. Siddhartha Gupta, CEO of Mercer Mettl stated: “As rapid digitization of education and learning management systems continue; it is clear that importance of remote proctoring software as a service is only going to increase. You need state-of-the-art proctoring features such as AI-based cheating detection, behavior pattern detection, and a safe exam browser to lend credibility to your training and services program; along with talent and performance management systems. And this is what Egyptian Banking Institute got through Mercer Mettl MPaaS-Mettl Proctoring as a Service.”
Moreover, through this agreement EBI is now providing an AI solution that covers almost all types of exam violations that the candidate could make, minimizing the time and resources consumed in traditional proctoring methods. Before attaining the MPaaS license, EBI used direct human proctoring either in class or through Zoom or Webex which required one coordinator for every one or two users; however, after acquiring MPaaS, EBI now has the diversity of managing and implementing assessment projects in different ways, which reflects positively on meeting the different needs of clients.
Mr. Nossier added that this agreement was in line with EBI’s aspirations to meet the market needs especially in light of the precautionary measures followed to face the spread of the Corona virus, as this technology reduces the presence of the human resources to proctor the candidates, as well as ensures the validity of the results of the assessments and reports issued.
