The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, has launched “Digital Tomorrow” initiative.
It aims to build the digital capacities of young Egyptians nationwide, within the framework of the State’s strategy for building the Egyptian citizen and implementing “Digital Egypt” vision for creating an interactive digital community.
The initiative is part of Tawar w Ghayar (Develop and Change) project, implemented by the Central Administration for Projects and Youth Training at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Institutional Development, Training and Human Capacity Building Sector at MCIT, in collaboration with Microsoft and Care Egypt Foundation (CEF).
The initiative will be implemented nationwide as of December, starting with Port Said City as the first digital governorate in Egypt. The initiative targets 14-40 year old people.
The aim is to foster Egyptian youth through developing their capacities and helping them keep abreast of and harness technological development for their benefit and for serving their future.
The initiative provides an opportunity for young people to develop their skills and obtain certifications.
It comprises a set of programs for raising digital awareness, as well as comprehensive training programs delivered by a number of Microsoft Certified Trainers (MCTs).
The initiative is based on three main pillars. The first entails holding introductory meetings and workshops to raise awareness of the importance of digital transformation. This includes holding three seminars per month, over a period of three months.
Meetings will be held at youth centers or Port Said Youth City,Meetings will comprise presentations on digital transformation and the areas to be digitized, as well as an introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the future of jobs.
This is in addition to success stories of youth in Port Said City, who excel in various fields of work.
The second pillar entails organizing online sessions once a week, over three months.
This includes holding virtual meetings using Microsoft Teams, on topics such as the importance of work, digital transformation, career planning, AI, goal setting, data analysis and entrepreneurship.
In addition, online training programs will be carried out for seven days, five hours a day, on digital literacy, featuring topics including Windows, Microsoft Office and others, Top trainees will be qualified to obtain the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification.
The third pillar entails qualifying trainees to receive MOS certification. This includes holding virtual trainings via Microsoft Teams, over 10 days, five hours a day.
The aim is to qualify trainees to obtain certifications to specialize in Microsoft programs.
