Morocco Reach AFCON 2025 Semi-Finals After Dominant Win Over Cameroon

Host nation Morocco secured a place in the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with a commanding 2-0 victory over Cameroon in Rabat.
Brahim Díaz opened the scoring in the 26th minute, finishing from close range after a downward header by Ayoub El Kaabi from a corner kick, marking his fifth goal of the tournament.
Morocco doubled their advantage in the second half through Ismael Saibari, who calmly slotted home a low left-footed strike following a set-piece situation.
Led by coach Walid Regragui, the Atlas Lions delivered a composed and dominant performance, rarely allowing Cameroon to threaten, backed by a passionate home crowd reminiscent of Morocco’s 2022 World Cup support.
The victory extends Morocco’s unbeaten run to 25 matches and sends them into their first AFCON semi-final since 2004. They are now just two wins away from lifting their first continental title since 1976.
Morocco will face the winner of Algeria vs Nigeria in the semi-final on Wednesday, once again enjoying home advantage in Rabat.
