In a new achievement added to the record of successes of the Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation, and affirming its commitment to developing and modernizing infrastructure to keep pace with the rapid growth in the air transport sector, Cairo International Airport has achieved an unprecedented historic milestone by recording the highest operating rate in a single day since its opening on May 18, 1963.
The airport received and saw off 102,108 passengers in one day, the highest number in its history. The total number of flights operated that day reached 682, with 343 departures and 339 arrivals.
This achievement reflects the high operational efficiency enjoyed by Cairo International Airport and its large capacity to meet the increasing demand for travel, whether for domestic or international flights. It also underscores the airport’s readiness to accommodate growing numbers of tourists and travelers, as Egypt’s main gateway and a vital air transport hub in the region.
This record number confirms the success of the strategic plans implemented by the Ministry of Civil Aviation to develop Egyptian airports and raise the level of services provided to passengers, thereby enhancing Egypt’s position on the global aviation map.
