Audi Egypt introduces the A8 L to the local market
Aiming to gain more ground in the local market, the Egyptian Automotive & Trading Co. (EATC)—Egypt’s official Audi importer—has announced the launch of the Audi A8 L in the country. The high-end limousine sets new standards in its full-size luxury sedan class, thanks to its prestigious design, unrivaled comfort, and cutting-edge technology.
Since its introduction in 1994, the four-door A8 has been Audi’s flagship sedan and a symbol for the status and prestige of the German brand. The current fourth-generation Audi A8 was unveiled in 2017, before receiving a mid-cycle facelift in 2022.
Billed as both the largest and most luxurious sedan in Audi’s line-up, the A8 L has an evolutionary design to make it more appealing to the tastes of modern buyers with its confident yet aristocratic personality. As its name implies, the “L” in Audi A8 L stands for “long wheelbase”, providing spacious accommodations.
Style-wise, the exterior lines of the latest iteration of A8 L stands out thanks to the wider Singleframe grille with more chrome accents, brake calipers finished in black, Digital Matrix LED headlamps, customizable taillight signature with digital OLED, dark-tinted windows, and 20-inch wheels. In terms of dimensions, the latest A8 L now measures 5.32 m long, 1.94 m wide, and 1.48 m tall, with a 3.12 m long wheelbase.
The A8 L’s fully digital cockpit features two MMI touch response displays inside. The main display measures 10.1 inches, while the lower 8.6-inch display provides access to the climate control system and seat adjustments. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster (Audi virtual cockpit plus) is also available. The latest A8 L also offers a wide range of features, such as a panoramic sunroof, four-zone automatic air conditioning, Valcona leather upholstery with diamond stitching, power-adjustable seats with a memory function, and seat ventilation and massage feature. 4-way pneumatic lumbar support for the seats, footrests on the back of the passenger side, a cooler box with a bar compartment between the rear seats, Bang and Olufsen 3D sound system, Audi phone box, a double-spoke leather steering wheel with shift paddles, a 30-color ambient lighting system, and two folding tables at the rear to complete business class treatment for rear passengers, are among the interior highlights of the newcomer.
On the safety front, the 2024 A8 L gains an assortment of driver-assistance systems and safety features, including cruise control with speed limiter, adaptive air suspension, a head-up display, a 360-degree camera, a lane departure warning system, ISOFIX child safety seat mounting system, Audi pre sense basic, a night vision assistant, and tire pressure monitoring system, to name but a few.
Under the bonnet, the new Audi A8 L debuts with a 3.0-liter TFSI V6 engine and 48V mild-hybrid technology, producing
340 hp and 500 Newton meters of torque. Coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission (Tiptronic) sending power to the four wheels via the permanent all-wheel drive system (quattro), the six-cylinder unit enables the full-size luxury sedan to go from zero to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds before hitting a top speed of 250 km/h. The latest Audi A8 L also features the Dynamic All-Wheel Steering which combines direct, sporty steering with unshakable stability.
