The Egyptian Automotive & Trading Co. (EATC)—Egypt’s official Audi importer—has announced the launch of Audi Q8 facelift in the Egyptian market. Only available in one trim level: S-Line Plus, the new swoopy luxury SUV now boasts redesigned front and rear fascias, a mix of sweet and spicy interior features, and a wide range of new hi-tech gadgets to appeal to young buyers.
Since its introduction in 2018, the Audi Q8 has been the most tasteful option in the coupe-SUV class. The flagship SUV received a mid-cycle facelift, while still remaining essentially the same spacious, comfortable, and capable SUV no it always was.
Looking instantly recognizable, the Audi Q8 has received mild cosmetic updates, including next-generation digital lighting. The wide singleframe grille still dominates the front end, but thanks to its octagonal elements and Scandium Gray finish on the S-Line package, it has a more menacing look. The side intakes on the revised front bumper have grown wider and deeper and are highlighted by large aluminum-style trim. The HD Matrix LED headlights with laser technology are also available for improved high-beam performance. Apart from the rugged-looking side skirts and the new exhaust system with revamped tailpipes, the new two-row luxury SUV comes with sportier S-Line bumpers finished in full paint, revised LED taillights, a roof spoiler with a high-mounted stop lamp, aluminum roof rails, red-painted brake calipers, dark-tinted heat-reflected glass, and 22-inch alloy wheels, among other exterior updates.
Stepping inside Audi’s biggest coupe-SUV, the cabin features plenty of plush and high-quality materials, including matte brushed aluminum trim, gray oak inserts, and leather and leatherette surfaces on the dashboard, to name but a few. Speaking of technology, an advanced MMI infotainment system with two different-sized touch-response displays is available—the main display measures 10.1 inches, in addition to a lower 8.6-inch screen. The new flagship SUV also has a standard 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster (Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus).
The range-topping S-Line Plus variant of the latest Q8 offers a wide range of upscale features, including a head-up display (HUD), customizable ambient interior lighting, four-zone automatic air conditioning, front and rear seat heaters, power-adjustable front seats with ventilation and memory features, Valcona leather upholstery with embossed “S” logo and diamond stitching, and 4-way lumbar support. An Audi phone box light, a leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel with shift paddles, a Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system, stainless steel pedal cluster and footrest, glossy black operating buttons, scuff plates with aluminum inserts, and a Black Dinamica microfiber headliner, are among the amenities available.
On the safety front, the latest Audi Q8 comes with an awe-inspiring amount of safety kit, including cruise control with speed limiter, 360-degree cameras, hands-free, kick-to-open trunk feature, ISOFIX child seat anchors for front and rear seats, a lane departure warning system, a rear cross-traffic assist system, an indirect tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), Audi Drive Select, parking aid plus with a 360-degree display, Audi Pre Sense Rear, and standard pedestrian protection, along with front and side curtain airbags.
The facelifted Audi Q8 is powered by a 3.0-liter TFSI V6 engine and 48V mild-hybrid technology, delivering 340 hp and 500 Newton meters of torque.
Coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission (Tiptronic) sending power to the four wheels via the permanent all-wheel drive system (Quattro), the six-cylinder unit enables the coupe-SUV to go from zero to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds before hitting a top speed of 250 km/h. The Audi Q8 also boasts all-wheel steering and adaptive air suspension, making the swoopy luxury SUV agile in tight spaces and capable of taking on challenging terrain.
