Egyptian Automotive & Trading Co. (EATC)—Egypt’s official Volkswagen importer—has introduced the all-new 2024 Volkswagen Touareg to its loyal customers in the local market, along with the top-spec R-Line variant, which comes with a sportier-look design and exclusive features that make the boldest statement. With the arrival of the latest iteration of Volkswagen midsize SUV, EATC promises to offer its customers a unique and different ownership experience that far exceeds their expectations.
The first Touareg was introduced in 2002 and was followed by the second and third generations in 2010 and 2018, respectively.
Five years after its official launch in 2018, the third-generation Volkswagen Touareg has received a mid-cycle facelift.
The latest flagship SUV has been updated with a variety of exterior revisions, interior updates with a host of fresh features, and, most importantly, an array of smart technology that is rarely seen in this class.
Driving the facelifted Volkswagen Touareg is a powerful 2.0-liter TFSI turbocharged engine delivering 250 hp and 370 Nm of torque.
The four-cylinder unit is coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission, sending power to the four wheels (4MOTION). The latest Touareg rockets to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 229 km/h.
Style-wise, the 2024 Touareg has been updated with a fresh front appearance that features a new grille and flashier matrix LED headlights, which are otherwise known as “IQ.LIGHT HD LED”. More than 38,000 interactive LEDs in the new headlamps project a blanket of light directly onto the road, thereby illuminating the driving area more precisely than ever before. The rear fascia has also been updated thanks to a full-width LED light bar, an illuminated Volkswagen badge that glows red, chrome trims on the side windows, and 20-inch alloy wheels. R-Line variants feature “R” style bumpers, body-colored bumpers and lower door parts, an R-Line logo up front, and dual exhaust tips—one on each side.
In terms of dimensions, the latest Touareg has an overall length of 4,878 mm, and it measures 1,984 mm and 1,720 mm in width and height, respectively. VW’s flagship SUV also has a generous wheelbase of 2,894 mm.
Moving to the upmarket interior reveals many new features that not only promise an unmatched level of luxury and sophistication, but they also come loaded with smart technology. The dashboard is dominated by a modern, driver-focused infotainment screen, along with a fully digital instrument panel and the App-Connect that enables you to connect your smartphone with your vehicle via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. There is also dual-zone climate control (Climatronic) with an air quality sensor and active biogenic filter as well as a DYNAUDIO premium audio system, among other features.
Other interior highlights include a head-up display (HUD), an electric tilting and sliding panoramic sunroof, a 30-color ambient lighting system, a rear-view camera, a keyless entry with SAFELOCK, power-adjustable front seats with memory function, three USB-C points at the front and two USB-C points at the back, and Easy Open & Close feature to open the trunk with just a kick of your foot. The “R-Line” models come with “Varenna” leather upholstery, various R badges inside and out, Active climate control seats up front with massage function, and a leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel with shift paddles.
Finally, the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan features a wide range of driver-assistance systems and safety features, including front airbags, side curtain airbags, and a knee airbag on the driver side as well as cruise control, a speed limiter, three-point seat belts up front with height adjustment and seat belt pre-tensioners, and ISOFIX child seats in the back. A tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), front and rear parking sensors, a lane departure warning system (Lane Assist), and a proactive occupant protection system are also available.
As for the price tag, the latest Volkswagen Touareg models have a unique base price of L.E. 3,990,000.
